  • Jocks and base layers

I'm a mid level rec leaguer and I've been using the same set up for 15+ years; McKenney goalie jock with a player jock/cup and knit hockey socks. It's worked great but the McKenney jock has seen better days. This is probably a noobie question but I've noticed the jocks of today are much larger than my old McKenney and there are a plethora of different compression/moisture wicking "goalie" base layers out there but they don't have integrated cups. My question is, if I upgrade to the newer larger style goalie jock and new compression tight style base layer, is the lack of that "player" cup that I've currently been wearing behind the goalie jock even something I should concern myself with? Any feed back would be appreciated. Thanks
