Re: Adult Clinic Ice Times.
Hello everyone, I trust all is well.
I have booked some weekend ice for a few adult clinics at The Great Pacific Forum Planet Ice in Delta. Any interested adult goalies are welcome to attended one, two or all three.
The Dates, times, and costs are as follows:
Saturday, May 24th
Meet, chat, ball toss, stretch and warm-up: 10:00 to 11:30
Ice Time: 12 – 1:15pm
Saturday, June 7th
Meet, chat, ball toss, stretch and warm-up: 9:45 to 11:15
Ice Time: 11:45 to 1:15pm
Saturday, June 14th
Meet, chat, ball toss, stretch and warm-up: 11:30 to 1:00 pm
Ice Time: 1:30 to 2:45 pm.
Cost will be 65.00 per person each session. (Plus G.S.T)
For those of you who have participated in the past – you can expect my typical pragmatic focus towards root skill sets, and as much of them as I can cram into the ice time !
For those of you who don’t know , or have never worked with me and therefore are unsure what to expect or if this would be of benefit, I ask you to call me at the number below to discuss your concerns, and / or keep your eye on the Goalie Doctor Forum as I’m sure former participants to my clinics will post there thoughts about the experience.
ATTENTION Current or former Fricker Students: I here by request you assistance Please post your criticisms as well as praise (equally welcomed and expected) for the benefit of those who may not know.
For these 3 sessions, I will not be segregating based on experience but instead be conducting the ice times where various skill levels are on the ice at the same time focusing as individuals on the tasks, and methods. If you think this way of conducting a ice time is either above or below your ability, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
My aim will be what it has been for 25 years: Encourage the student to see the sense and logic that being good at something is where the fun actually is – and that if you want to be good at this position – you need to commit yourself to growing in your understanding of the position and building upon the mechanics and skill sets that are demanded by the position.
In order to get a spot you need to call me and reserve one - Availability will be on a first come first serve basis. Group size will be limited.
This year, I will be taking all payment in advance so MasterCard, Visa, or Amex will be appreciated.
Lastly, IF you were wondering if a 48 year old instructor could show you anything worth replicating – fear not – I have solved this problem!
You can expect one or two of my junior and collage aged students out with us assisting me with demos as well as skating and participating with the group as sort of visual standard bearers. I have found this “delegation of duty” necessary the last few years not to mention easier on me (I think that my golf swing is finally smoother and more flexible than my butterfly)
Ok, that’s about it
Take care, enjoy your spring and I hopefully will see you out on the ice over the next few weeks
